Falling for Football

Falling for Football brings together two signatures of American autumn in one witty image: a large orange pumpkin sits at the base of a brownstone stoop, and resting across it is a golden football rendered in the same warm tones. Colorful fallen leaves scatter across the foreground and drift through the air, while the brownstone behind glows with lit windows. In one window, a silhouette figure raises a hand as if cheering, and a small football shape appears to float nearby.

The building is drawn in Inciardi's characteristic chalk-line style, all geometric outlines against a dark ground, giving the scene a nighttime, urban energy. Brownstone architecture is deeply woven into New York City neighborhood life, and autumn football culture is one of the most widely shared seasonal traditions in the United States. The combination of these two subjects gives the print a strong sense of place and time of year.

This Ana Inciardi mini print appeals to collectors who follow her New York themed work, and it pairs naturally with her other New York city scenes that feature stoops, row houses, and street-level neighborhood moments. The football and pumpkin motifs also attract collectors who favor her seasonal subjects. The Marriott Bonvoy and ANA branding visible on the print indicates it was produced in collaboration with those partners, which adds an extra layer of interest for collectors who track her commissioned and limited edition work.

The layered humor of the composition, a football nestled into a pumpkin, is handled with the same deadpan charm that runs throughout her catalog.
