Indie Bookstore Day

This Ana Inciardi mini print captures a blue tote bag printed with the words "I Love Indie Bookstores," where the word love is represented by a heart. The bag is drawn and printed entirely in blue ink on a light background, with a smiling open book illustrated on the lower half of the bag. Peeking out from the top of the tote are bright pink and green rectangles suggesting books or papers, adding the only non-blue color to the composition.

At the bottom of the image, handwritten text reads "Bookstore Day," grounding the piece in a specific celebration. Indie Bookstore Day is an annual event held on the last Saturday of April, organized to celebrate independent bookshops across the United States. Independent bookstores have long been gathering places for literary communities, and the day typically features special events, exclusive merchandise, and author appearances.

Collectors drawn to literary themes and cultural celebrations find this print particularly compelling, as it captures a recognizable subculture with affection and wit. The tote bag as subject is an instantly familiar object for book lovers, and Inciardi's clean, stamp-like aesthetic gives it the feel of something between a personal artifact and a graphic keepsake. This print fits naturally into part of her broader print series celebrating everyday objects and community rituals, sitting alongside other subject matter rooted in urban cultural life.

Collectors frequently group it with her New York prints or other pieces centered on neighborhood institutions and local identity, making it a natural anchor for thematically organized collections.
