FAQ

Common questions

Is it free?

Yes. Open Wednesday through Sunday, closed Mondays and Tuesdays. Amex early access 11am to 12pm, open to everyone from 12pm to 7pm. Running through November 1.

How long is the line?

It varies with the MSG shows. People arriving around 10:30am got through in about five hours, and one visitor waited four hours on a Wednesday before a show. Non show days are calmer. Plan for more time than you expect and check the concert schedule if you can pick your day.

When is the best time to go?

A weekday with no show at the Garden, as early as you can. Later in the run should be easier than now.

Where is the machine?

Outside the pop-up, with its own line.

Do I still need to go through the pop-up?

Yes. You go through the main entrance line to get your tokens, then do the machine on your way out. There is no fast track and no way to buy tokens at the machine itself.

How long is the machine line itself?

Short. Never more than about five groups when we were there, and well organized.

Can I use tokens from another pop-up?

No. Every machine has its own tokens with its own logo and they are not interchangeable.

How many prints can I get?

Five per person.

Is there a rare print?

Yes. There is a lino Smiley in the machine and only 100 were made. With the volume this pop-up is doing, pulling one is genuinely rare, and it is the one everybody is hoping for.

What are people pulling?

Plenty of dupes regardless of which slot you pick, and a lot of Shiny Disco Ball. Disco Rat seems to be the elusive one.

Is there anything that changes day to day?

There is a different pin at the merch register each day, so if you are collecting those it is worth asking what today's is.

Can I just get merch?

There are grab and go locations separate from the main pop-up, including 3rd and Bowery and 55 Great Jones, with much shorter waits. No machine and no prints at either, so they are merch only.

How is it different from the shorter pop-ups?

This one runs three months rather than ten days, which shows in how much is built out. If you are there mainly for the prints, an off-peak weekday is the easier trip. Otherwise there is a lot to see, so give yourself time.
